The organ is also in need of refurbishment. The present organ was a gift from Lady Fabia Stanley (wife of Henry, the 3rd Lord Stanley of Alderley) in 1875 and was made by Hill & Son, London, who were one of the most eminent organ builders of the day. A complete rebuild is planned to bring the instrument as near as possible to its original condition.

RIDE AND STRIDE DAY - SEPTEMBER 13TH 2008

The Historic Cheshire Churches Preservation Trust is dependent on voluntary donations and its main annual fund-raising event is the Ride & Stride Day. Groups of people or individuals from churches all over the county ride, walk or run around as many churches in their area as they choose.

Last year Wynne and I drove 70 miles and visited 6 Churches. We raised the fantastic total of £1250 which was split evenly between HCCPT and St.Mary's, Alderley Tower and Organ Appeal. This year we hope to beat that total!
